Foster a safe learning environment, where healthcare professionals and students receive constructive, non-judgmental feedback.
Improve individual and team performance in a simulated environment that provides healthcare professionals and students the chance to synthesize and apply their clinical and teamwork knowledge and skills in a real time setting where patient care is not at risk.
Improve systems performance by partnering with departments, disciplines, and health systems to develop effective and innovative clinical simulation-based education and assessment tools, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) simulation scenarios, and to test new, novel processes and practices before implementing them in actual patient care settings.
Develop and implement assessment processes to establish competence.
Serve as an organizational and regional resource for simulation methodology.
Provide leadership for simulation-based activities.
Expand the field of simulation through research and other scholarly activities.
