                                              Part One:  Online component

HeartCode  Anywhere ACLS is a web-based or CDROM self-directred learning program from  American Heart Association for Advanced Cardiac Life Support training.  The HeartCode ACLS Part 1 program has been updated to reflect new science in the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. Key science changes include the new CPR sequence, a continued emphasis on high quality CPR and the use of continuous waveform capnography to monitor CPR quality and detect ROSC.  HeartCode ACLS may be purchased from Laerdal or the American Heart Assocation

                                              • Knowledge component of ACLS that provides a standardized approach towards cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care.  Consists of a precourse self-assessment, 10 hospital-based patient scenarios, and a multiple choice post-test.
                                              • Approximate time to complete is 5 to 10 hours. This may be completed in time intervals convenient for the participant.
